Are your clothes made in Canada?

Tough Duck apparel is designed in our head office in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. While some of our manufacturing is done overseas to meet demand, we want to reassure you that our commitment to quality remains unwavering. Regardless of where it’s made, every product undergoes strict quality checks here in Canada to ensure it meets our high standards and maintains consistency on every product line.

Do your clothes have temperature rating?

Tough Duck does not provide temperature range (ex - Up to -35 degrees Celsius) for our products for several reasons:
1. Subjective Nature of Comfort: Comfort can vary significantly from person to person based on individual tolerance to cold, metabolism, activity level, and personal preferences. A temperature that feels comfortable to one person might feel too cold or too warm to another.
2. Layering and Versatility: Jackets are often worn in combination with other clothing layers, which can greatly affect warmth. The jacket’s comfort rating might not account for how different base layers, mid-layers, or accessories like hats and gloves can extend the temperature range in which the jacket can be worn.
3. Environmental Factors: Wind, humidity, and precipitation can influence how cold or warm you feel. A jacket might provide adequate warmth in dry, still conditions but not be as effective in windy or wet conditions, which could lower the effective temperature rating.
4. Lack of Standardized Measurement: There is no universal standard for comfort ratings in apparel, different manufacturers may use different criteria or testing methods. Some might not provide a specific temperature range at all, instead describing the jacket’s intended use or general level of warmth.
5. Other Contribution Performance Features: We prioritize other aspects of the jacket, such as waterproofing, breathability, or style, rather than providing a specific temperature range. In these cases, the comfort  rating might be more about overall versatility rather than precise thermal performance.
